Congratulations on your fifth NCAA basketball title. And thanks for extending my personal streak of titles won by my sports teams to ten in the past eight years!
For everyone like me who couldn’t make it out there, check out this video of Franklin Street from the Daily Tar Heel.
Here’s a time-lapse of the spot on Franklin Street:
Honestly, it does like like this year’s celebration was just a tad bit wilder than the one for their 4th championship (which I was at). Though my perspective for that celebration wasn’t from this nice online ariel view, but rather right from the streets. Similar to what Wayne Sutton was seeing last night:
In either case, congratulations North Carolina Tarheels! Way to be Tarheels, way to be champions yet again!
Oh, and by the way, of course I predicted that UNC would win it all!
I was pulling for Michigan State since I always prefer upsets (they make better tv). But UNC completely dominated them and hats off to the heels. Great season.

To be honest, if I didn’t attend UNC for two years, I likely would’ve been pulling for MSU too. Whenever I have no interest in either team, always go for the upset.
But, of course, I did have an interest in this one. 😉
I actually went to Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, when I lived in the U.S. However, I was still pulling for Michigan State. Unfortunately, they did have a tad bit of bad luck that night.
Which team do you think was better? The UNC team that won this year, or the UNC team that Michael Jordan played on?
I think both UNC of present and UNC of past (with Michael Jordan) are great.
Wow, unbelievable footage. I will make sure to stay away from the next championship afterparty!!!
Hmm, Lula I responded to your comment earlier but it seems the interweb ate my comment. 🙁
Anyway, it’s a tough question but I’d have to go with MJ’s team. Now, if we were matching them up head to head, I think the current team would win simply because athletes have become so much stronger and faster, but relative to their period the MJ team was better.
I also think the UNC championship team from ’05 was quite good and could give this year’s team a run for their money.
Aaron, that’s probably a good idea! Especially if you don’t want to go crazy with 20,000 college kids.
