Since it seems my readers love when I write about alcohol, let me tell you about a great event I’m attending this Friday called Wine Riot! The event is hosted by The Second Glass and Dig magazines. It is basically a two day wine festival with all you can drink wine from distributors from around the globe. There will be 250 wines for you to drink, all in a snob-free environment.
Not only will there be wine, but there will also be crash course seminars about the various types of wines. If you already love drinking wine or simply want to learn more these seminars will be a great way to learn about the wine making process and the differences in varieties from experts. The event will also have live music from two DJs, a photo booth, a Biodynamic and Organic Farming Panel, tasty food from Sel De La Terre, The Savant Project and Garden at the Cellar and, the event that I’m most excited about, the Global Wine Twitter Tasting.
The twitter tasting will be the world’s biggest online wine tasting, ever! Basically, at the same time people in three different time zones will taste the same wines and tweet about them. The hashtags for this event will be #ttl and #wineriot (for general wine riot tweets). As a twitter geek/fanatic, I’m wicked excited to get my twitter wine drink on. Follow me on twitter to join with me as I get drunk on a global scale. It should be interesting to say the least.
Wine Riot will be going on this Friday and Saturday, April 17th and 18th. Tickets are still on sale and will also be sold at the door. The event is being held at the Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) Cyclorama, which is very close to the Broadway T stop, amongst others. The address for the Cyclorama (which is a very cool venue) is 539 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02116.
I’ll be at Wine Riot all day Friday and will be attending the VIP Riot Friday night. Come drink some wine, tweet, and have fun with your favorite Boston blogger.
How was the wine event? I ended up going to a wine tasting event as well this past weekend. Very fun!
I’d like to see something like this with whisky. I mean sure wine is not that bad, but whisky is so much better.
exackly! whisky or martini mmm, but wine is goood to, specially old ones. Snoby environment sounds interesting, and yes! We love when you write about alcohol :pp
