Today an e-mail arrived in my inbox from the C's announcing the release of their half-season schedules. Well, here's my half of the schedule, and yes I will be attending the home opener!

Half Season 22-Game Plan - Home Schedule

Game - Date - Opponent - Time

Friday, October 17	- New York Knicks - 7:30 p.m. [pre-season]

Tuesday, October 28 - Cleveland Cavaliers - 8:00 p.m.

Friday, November 7 - Milwaukee Bucks - 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, November 12 - Atlanta Hawks - 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 18 - New York Knicks 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, November 26 - Golden State Warriors - 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 3 - Indiana Pacers - 7:30 p.m.

Friday, December 5 - Portland TrailBlazers - 8:00 p.m.

Friday, December 19 - Chicago Bulls - 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, December 23 - Philadelphia 76ers - 7:30 p.m.

Friday, January 2 - Washington Wizards - 7:30 p.m.

Monday, January 12 - Toronto Raptors - 7:30 p.m.

Monday, January 19 - Phoenix Suns - 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday, January 28 - Sacramento Kings - 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, February 5 - Los Angeles Lakers - 8:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 1 - Detroit Pistons - 1:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 8 - Orlando Magic - 1:00 p.m.

Monday, March 23 - Los Angeles Clippers - 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 29 - Oklahoma City - 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, April 1 - Charlotte Bobcats - 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 8 - New Jersey Nets - 7:30 p.m.

Friday, April 10 - Miami Heat - 7:30 p.m.

I didn't get to see the Phoenix Suns last year so I'm also pumped to see them! href="http://twitter.com/AdamPieniazek/statuses/861281103">I twittered earlier today, I finally bit the bullet and sent Yahoo $25 to upgrade my flickr account to the Pro version. For anyone wondering why my photos section has been sitting at 200 photos for a month or two now, that's why! You see though flickr is great, their free accounts are limited to only 200 photos. The photos section on this site pulls my pictures off my flickr photostream, so since I reached my 200 photo max on flickr, my photo section on this blog hasn't been updated.

Now that I've upgraded to the pro flickr account, my photos section here will be updated much more frequently and has an additional 60 photos in it right now. To celebrate the occasion, let's take a look at the last 3 pictures I uploaded to flickr. They're all odd, funny, or cool signs from the Boston area.

Mardi Gras in Boston!

Saw this sign in Dorchester on a little side street on my way to the local Stop & Shop. That's a really cool sign and seeing it so far north made it stick out brilliantly amongst the other tattered signs on the street.

Truth in Advertising at Stop & Shop

Speaking of Stop & Shop, this marker has a story all its own. In fact, I'm quite convinced my friends and I made it come into existence! A couple weeks ago, my friends Mike and Corey and myself were planning a little BBQ and went to the closest supermarket to get supplies. On our way to the storefront Corey and I started discussing how Stop & Shop food isn't the best in the world, but at least it's relatively cheap. As we get to the store's sliding door, I spot this sign right out front:

Seriously, you cannot make this stuff up!

Remember Me Says the Bicycle

Saw this advertisement on the side of a bus stop on Commonwealth Avenue near Boston University. As my loyal readers already know I bought a bicycle a few months back and have been in love with cycling ever since. As many other Dorchester youths did when they were kids, I biked all over my neighborhood growing up so this advertisement hit a personal note, as I'm sure it does with many people who see it.

Don't take it from the ad, take it from me, bicycling is wicked fun, is great exercise and is often quicker than driving (especially in the city) so if you haven't ridden a bicycle recently, give it a shot!

Anyone have some funny signs they've seen out in the wild? If so, send me an e-mail and I'll feature it in a future post!
<div

As I'm successfully unemployed, I'm unable to lavish my mom with expensive gifts but that's OK. In fact, that's one of the reasons I love my mom, because she doesn't care about how much money is spent on her but rather the thought behind the gift.

Yesterday, we went to the Celtics game against the Pistons, my mom's first Celtics game. She was a hoopster herself back in her school days in Poland so she really enjoyed seeing us whoop up on the Pistons. In fact, she's already made me promise to take her to a few games next season!

Here's a few more reasons my mom is awesome:

She's strong. Being raised in communist Poland and raising me all by herself has instilled a toughness in my mom that I constantly admire.

She's smart. My mom bought our house when she first came over to America and now it's 100% paid off and belongs 100% to our family. One of the smartest investments in America is to buy and own property, and her house is in a great part of Boston, not too close to the city but not too far with many conveniences like the MBTA and supermarkets and other necessities all within walking distance. Her decision to buy this house was a great one and her ability to pay it off so quickly shows her great perseverance and dedication.

She's proud. She believes in herself and won't accept negativity from others. It results in some stubborn situations sometimes but I'm glad she's instilled the same pride in me.

She speaks multiple languages. She speaks English and Polish very well and can also speak Russian. Her ability to learn languages was passed onto me as I can speak English, Polish, Spanish and know some Latin.

She's caring. My mom is not greedy and when times were booming here in the U.S. during my childhood she would always send packages to our family in Poland to help them out. Even now she donates to organizations and is never concerned about money even though we are by no means wealthy. That sense of there being more important things in life than money has helped me realize that it does not matter if I'm rich or poor as long as I'm happy and proud. It's incredible how valuable that lesson is.

I could go on and on about how awesome my mom is but I think many of my readers feel the same way about their moms, so I won't bore all of you with the details.

Happy Birthday mom! You rock!
<div

If you're ever in the area (or already live here), I highly recommend checking the place out, it's got a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, a 40 feet salad bar, and meat and fish stores with a large organic selection inside the marketplace. I picked up some very nice looking kiwis, a couple green apples and some organic, free-range, and veggie-fed chicken breasts.

Bikes not Bombs in Jamaica Plain and have been enjoying the great weather we've been having here in Boston and biking around town. I'll post an in-depth review of both the bike and the bike shop but for now here's a picture of my new wheels:

<a

A heads up, don't expect a post tomorrow (though you might be surprised) as it's supposed to be 70+ degrees here!
<div
